Cockpit Ambassadors of the South African Air Force. - Formation jet aerobatics in the South African Air Force can be traced back to the 1950s when the original team was called Bumbling Bees, flying the de Havilland Vampire. The Silver Falcons followed in 1967 with the AerMacchi MB.326M Impala. For 25 years this elite aerobatic team weaved their magic in the theatre of the sky in their Impalas. Today, the Silver Falcons fly the Swiss designed Pilatus PC-7 Mk II Astra.
